From the original project archiveThe context
Build a world the reader wants to enter.
Samsung’s brief called for an interactive story that could reflect different interests without losing its narrative. The archived account describes five friends, several connected scenarios, and collaboration with a design team to match the writing to what the site could support.
A feature becomes easier to understand when it has a part to play. The script puts messaging, music, games and shared pictures inside relationships and situations, rather than presenting them only as a specification list.
The writing role. Story development and script/copywriting in collaboration with a design team, as described in the recovered account. The microsite’s visual design and development are not claimed as Peter’s work.
A closer look at the craft
Let a character carry the feature
The recovered narrative uses friends with different interests. Their situations give individual capabilities a purpose within the larger story.
Write for interaction
Scene directions, dialogue and on-screen lines need to work together. The archive includes the writing document, rather than a reconstruction of the original interactive site.
Treat design as a collaborator
The source describes repeated exchanges with the design team. The story had to remain coherent while adapting to the experience they could build.
The writing, up close
